The Royal Gorge, Colorado.

| The bridge, which was built in 1929 and is the highest in the world, carries both pedestrians and vehicles. It is 1,053 feet above the Arkansas River. The (ex) D&RGW mainline follows the river below. There is a suspended cable car across the gorge from the spot where this picture was taken. Also, an incline railway takes you down to an observation platform beside the track and river. |
