Welcome To Lex Parker's
Narrow Gauge Model Railroad:
The DENVER & RIO GRANDE WESTERN

Lex on Mt. Evans
I model the DENVER & RIO GRANDE WESTERN in On3 (1/48th scale) on October 17, 1937 at 4:00 p.m. with a focus on the yards at Chama, New Mexico! Here I am on top of Mt. Evans, elev. 14,264 ft., overlooking Colorado. In 1978 I became a founding member of the Maple Leaf Mafia, a group of Canadian "narrow minded" modellers, still meeting today.

The Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad ran in both states of Colorado and New Mexico. The line from Chama to Antonito criss-crossed on both sides of the state's borders.

Click HERE to see the line that my layout is loosely based on
where the track crosses on both sides of the border.

when I was certified as NMRA Master Model Railroader #300.

Note that the 'Current Projects' link is constantly updated as progress of the layout proceeds.
