The Coaling Tower is an imposing structure in the yard. This structure was built from a kit by San Juan Engineering. Many scratch-built parts and details were added. The structure now sits in my new layout.
All wood timbers of the trestle are grained and weathered prior to assembly. The tops of the bents are covered with simulated galvanized metal flashing to prevent burning from falling cinders. While this trestle is straight, it follows a 4% grade.
